A prolific composer and producer, Levi Chen has released seven albums since 1993. Progressively evolving from the spare but elegant solo guitar work of Tao to the abundant washes of guitar, poetic recitation and gu zheng layers on Haiku Moon, Levi devoted an entire CD to the interplay of ambient guitar and Chinese harp on Meditation of My Soul.

The introduction of collaborative improvisation came with the profoundly beautiful Celtic Zen, a musical dialog with Windham Hill harpist Lisa Lynne and cymbalon master Michael Masley. Compositional sketches that received an eloquent stripped-down treatment in Levitation became fully fleshed out on Liquid Gardens, the first Levi Chen CD to include full rhythm section backup. A return to Levi's roots as a musical traveler resulted in Alhambra, which includes classic instrumental performances of Don McClean's "Vincent" and Jimi Hendrix' "Little Wing".

Levi's new album, Devocean, is his most visionary ever. A masterpiece of
remembrance and bliss, accompanied by full orchestral arrangements,
Devocean includes a DVD of the "Sound And Recent Sorrow" video.
